Skyrim graphics mods to download
Another entry in the "Tamrielic" lineup is a texture mod pack that goes after Skyrim's landscapes, coating them in a brilliant new shimmer. It's a highly comprehensive mod that delivers high-fidelity beauty to everything from rocks, roads, and beaches, to name just a few.
As a baseline mod, it's an excellent companion to those already installed. Not only does this mod pack deliver on the visual front, but it also plays nice with other landscape overhaul mods like Septentrional Landscapes. The idea is to hit every part of Skyrim with a high-res texture replacement, thereby covering every base in each of the province's distinct biodomes.
This mod affects landscape textures primarily, covering the various environmental floors with amazing high-fidelity and brilliance. Quality hounds can rejoice, for the mod comes in several flavors going all the way up to an astonishing 8K.
Most gamers might want to stick with either 2K or 4K textures, however. Septentrional Landscapes delivers amazing realism that is light years beyond the base game, and should be viewed as yet another baseline mod in the load order, following the ones already added. The sheer level of detail, realism and beauty is top of the line, giving gamers everything they need to enjoy completing the best quests Skyrim has to offer. There are a plethora of plant retexture mods out there, including the oft-lauded Skyrim Flora Overhaul, but Mari's Flora shouldn't be overlooked, either.
It's a bit more compatible with other mods, making it an easier baseline add-on from which to build on Skyrim's flora. The mod description page is a bit limited, but the pack essentially groups all of the mod author's flora mods into one.
This is advantageous, as there's less to keep track of. The mod overhauls the various plants in Skyrim with brilliant new models and textures, but they can over overwritten with other mods on a per-item basis. The grass will be denser, more realistic, and with more flowers. The trees will be larger and will make the forests look darker and lusher.
You can combine it with other mods such as Verdant - A Skyrim Grass Plugin for an even better result. Get Skyrim Flora Overhaul here. Look at that! Both Pure Waters and Realistic Water Two will make you want to plunge your feet into those refreshing rivers and lakes. Pure Waters by Laast is more transparent and features slower currents. Realistic Water Two by isoku makes water look deeper, faster, and more dangerous.
It's my personal favorite. As the name suggests, this mod improves the quality of static objects by adding improved meshes. You can get it here. Do more than just picking through presets when you use the RaceMenu mod by Expired. Combine races for someone with a mixed ancestry like a Bretons that looks a bit elven, or a Nord that is half Orsimer Use the showracemenu cheat as seen at the start of the video above to go into character creation.
You can find several mods that will change the models and textures of your characters, but I think that WSCO - Windsong Skyrim Character Overhaul is one of the best character mods out there. You can find the full list of all its character texturing improvements on the Nexus Mods site. You can also choose between Occidental Type and Oriental Type before downloading it.
Now that your characters look more realistic, you can go even further by installing new HD eyes. The Eyes of Beauty will add tens of new HD eye textures.
At this point, weapons are the only important thing left to enhance. But, this mod will take care of all the weapons seen in the game. And, they really need a bit of love. LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons improves the models and textures of every weapon in the game to look leaner and more realistic. Your character may look now more alive, but they may still be a bit stiff. Realistic Animation Project — Movement aimed to change that by developing more natural walking, running, sneaking, and idle animations.
Though, be careful because this one needs a trick to debug itself. But, these are two of the few mods out there that change the caster animations. Once more, pick your favorite, follow the installation instructions, and enjoy! Magiska - Spell Casting Animations by Supertin. Magiska - Spell Casting Animations add many new hand gestures. It was originally intended for female characters. Magic Casting Animations Overhaul by dualsun. The Realistic Ragdolls and Force mod adjusts the physics applied to character animations so that they look more natural and realistic when falling.
Some last touches. A little mod that adds more realism to the game. These two mods add more dramatism and greatly improve ambiance in both inside and in landscapes.
There are different versions to adjust to fit your personal preference such as having darker nights and such. Choose one, follow the installation instructions, and enjoy the light show! Enhanced Lights and FX by anamorfus. Realistic Lighting Overhaul by sydney Skip to main content.

Gamer Since: There are hundreds of books, journals, and notes littered across Skyrim. It's no stretch to say that players are likely to bump into a book of some sort every couple of feet. For objects in the game as prolific as books, it's important they also look their best. One of the best and most impressive mods for this game, hands down, is Book Covers Skyrim.
Every book, journal, and note is given a retexture that makes every one of these objects feel like a unique item. The covers on some of these books are so visually impressive, it's hard not to examine them for a few seconds just to admire the craftsmanship. Older games often possess poor lighting effects, especially when compared to today's standards. Lighting, however, plays a critical role in how a game is presented.
Enhanced Lights and FX adds some realism to Skyrim 's lighting animations and effects. One of the most noticeable features of this mod is how light shines through windows and underneath doorways.
Burning candles will emit smoke. Shadows and reflections are given more detail. All of these things greatly affect the mood of the game. Inns are cozier. Dungeons are darker.
It's a mod that seriously improves the atmosphere in both large and small ways. Dungeons make up a large part of the exploring in Skyrim. Whereas Ruins Clutter Overhaul upgrades the textures of the miscellaneous items, Underground - A Dungeon Texture Overhaul improves almost everything else. When the two mods are combined the player should immediately spot a noticeable difference.
Floors, staircases, archways, rocks, and stones are given the high-definition treatment. Everything is more sharply detailed rather than blurry, which is always a plus. The mountains that dot Skyrim 's landscape are certainly majestic.
Enter the Majestic Mountains mod, an enhancement that truly brings out their beauty. Mountain textures look less like they were painted on and more like actual rocks, especially when viewed from a distance.
Another cool little detail is the improved look of the moss that adorns certain rocky outcrops. The manner in which the lighting is reflected off the sides of the mountain is also reworked, which gives the environment a more natural feel to it.
It's definitely a graphics mod that shouldn't be neglected. If fans enjoy the Majestic Mountains mod, they'll also love Blended Roads , made by the same author. Similar to the previous mod, Blended Roads makes Skyrim 's thoroughfares into less of an afterthought and more of a natural feature of the landscape. Rocks and cobblestones now actually appear as such.
Roads no longer look like low-resolution blobs sinking into the ground. The road and the ground itself appear more natural, akin to something one may see in real life. Talk about some seriously deep immersion. Even though this might seem like a small little detail, adding smoke to the fire you carry in the game makes it look astonishingly good. Fire, with this mod, offers real billowing smoke and torches will have that emblematic trail that they often produce in real life.
It really adds a whole new level of depth to the game. This is one of those mods you never knew you really needed until you install it. The Darker Nights mod makes nights actually feel like nights by decreasing the amount of ambient light that there is in the environment when the sun goes down. This mod changes the regular texture that the game has to an incredibly highly defined set of images, which make caves and other sources of dust look much better.
Certainly more realistic at least. Have you ever noticed how lights seem to just be placed in certain spots, but light magically illuminates the entire room? This mod changes the way that works completely. It makes rooms and other areas of the game feel much more natural by decreasing the range of how far candles and other small sources of light can travel. You know, like in real life.
